Programs

Programs are the heart of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® and build upon our legacy of service through sisterhood. Our programs of service enhance the educational, social, and economic lives of communities locally, nationally, and internationally. Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha work collaboratively to maximize outreach and foster lifelong impact.

International Programs

Under the leadership of International President, Danette Anthony Reed, our 2022-2026 program includes six initiatives. Strengthen Our Sisterhood serves as the administration’s “Foundation Initiative” as we strengthen our bonds to support our service mission.

The remaining five initiatives serve as the “Program Initiatives,” which include the following:

Lambda Psi Omega Chapter Signature Programs

MLK STEM Day

On Monday, January 16, 2023, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Lambda Psi Omega Chapter's commitment to provide “Service to All Mankind,” Lambda Psi Omega Chapter partnered with Franklin City Schools to present a Martin Luther King (MLK) Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Day to kick-off the Youth Leadership Institute portion of the international “Uplift Our Local Community” initiative.

Youth Leadership Institute (YLI)

The Youth Leadership Institute is a program that targets boys and girls ages 11-13. The program offers a monthly session from October-June, featuring guest speakers, engaging activities, community service opportunities, and tutoring.
